Divergent 

     Veronica Roth shows an unique descriptive writing in so many ways. She decribed the character, Beatrice similar to most of the teenagers because they have different sets of minds about what is wrong or right. In the end, teenagers need their parents’ help since the older people experience struggles oftenly. Roth wrote about how Beatrice is old enough and the mother will not follow Beatrice’s steps. It shows that Beatrice can choose her own paths and learn the mistakes she made. She wrote this subject because Roth wanted to relate to teenagers and parents that everyone will face challenges and overcome the obstacles.

     In the book, it said “We believe that preparation eradicates cowardice, which we define as the failure to act in the midst of fear.” - Four p 77

Roth compare how teengers will need to do something out of comfort zone because if teengers are frighten, they won’t have the momentum of becoming brave, but breaking the fear will help them in the future of being stronger. One of the character named, Al who doesn’t want to hurt people when he knows there’s nothing to get out of learning of physically hurting each other. She wrote about this character to question people if everything is worth destroying. The message is to think about the society that has laws and rules to follow where leaders control the society for people to become a specific roles.

    Even Tris thinks beating people will release anger out. Think about what is the purpose of abusing people, when there aren’t any solutions to be resolved.  It doesn’t show how talented the person in the factions when they compete each other. Tris felt something was pulling her back that brings Roth of her writing to compare the society we are living in. She wants to think about what actual rules and laws are setting the society that help us or not.

    Roth shows how factions are divided into a personality traits, but in the real world there are opportunities to discover who you are. Roth reflects on the teenagers who have their own decisions of exploring and reflect on mistakes and accomplish something. There are a lot of competition, but everyone is unique in different ways.

The system they’re living in, the society is ruining the economics that is related to continents. People hate on each other because the government thinks about zealous. Then there are wars to have destructions when people are disrupting the society. Natalie is an unique character of a mother that thinks depending where you live, people will influence your behavior and personality.
